Council Vice-Chairman conferred Honorary Fellowship

Congratulations to Dr Michael Mak, our distinguished alumnus and Vice-Chairman of the College Council, for being conferred Honorary Fellowship by the Education University of Hong Kong in recognition of his remarkable contributions to medicine, education and the community.  

A paediatrician by profession, Dr Mak has been active in the medical field over the decades. He has been serving the Council of his alma mater since 1988 and was Supervisor from 1999 to 2010. He was also Council Vice-Chairman of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and was conferred Honorary Doctorate of Social Sciences in 2014. He is now an Honorary Court Member of HKUST. Dr Mak has served on the University Grants Committee since 2013 and was a Member of the Review Group on the Application for University Title by the then Hong Kong Institute of Education.  Dr Mak was made a Justice of the Peace in 2005 and was awarded a Silver Bauhinia Star in 2013 in recognition of his contributions to the community.
